Bosai Group signed an agreement with Qianjiang District Government of Chongqing municipality to invest 200 million yuan ($30.77 million) to develop an underground bauxite mine in the district. The project will begin construction in early 2018 and is scheduled for completion in July 2019. When completed, the annual bauxite output will reach 800,000 tons. This strategic move is to secure raw materials for the company’s alumina refinery with an annual output of 1 million tons in the area, according to an executive at the company.

Headquartered in Chongqing, Bosai Group is a privately-owned international mining enterprise with an annual output of 3.5 million tons of bauxite, 1 million tons of alumina, 330,000 tons of aluminum, and 150,000 tons of various aluminum products. It also owns more than 300 million tons of high-quality bauxite reserves in Ghana and Guyana.
